Ten years with Squarespace
At Studio Rubric, our relationship with the team at Squarespace goes back almost ten years.
Yep, longer than Rubric itself! In those days, we were known as Twin Collective, and we’d been using Squarespace to build websites for our clients since 2011. We knew then what we know now: Squarespace is an ideal platform for building beautiful websites that can easily be passed off to clients for future updates.
In 2015, the team at Squarespace reached out to us to build our first collaborative website with them: the podcast website for comedian Marc Maron. That project (which we’re still so proud of!) kicked off a partnership that has allowed us to showcase the capabilities of Squarespace across an array of industries with different Squarespace-sponsored clients.
From comedians and authors to athletes and chefs, we’ve had the opportunity to design and launch a collection of projects using Squarespace that truly showcase our client’s beautiful work.
Whether we tweak an existing Squarespace template or make our own from scratch, the back end and admin are as intuitive as if using an out-of-the box template.
And by applying our Pilot Strategy Phase, we can uncover what the purpose of a website should truly be.
For example, designer Colin King was already killing the Instagram game and didn’t need another grid of endless scroll images, but rather a full-bleed showcase of his most beautiful work.
Knicks player Lance Thomas needed a public-facing marketing site for his foundation and needed it to function as a password-protected content portal for his mentees.
Every new project with Squarespace is a joy and a new challenge. We thrive with the level of creative freedom they give us to push boundaries with design and layout.
